Tartuffe (or The Imposter) First performed at Versailles before King Louis XIV, this play was later banned in Paris. ISU Theatre’s production is set in Greenwich Village in the late 1950s. Regardless of the setting, there are family problems, generations who cannot agree, fools who are admired, persons of reason who are ignored and at the center is a charming hypocrite.
