Brad Dell
Brad Dell teaches Musical Theatre, Directing, and Script Analysis at
Iowa State. He directed the 2006 Stars Over Veishea production of My
Fair Lady and is excited to be collaborating with he Music Department
again on the Fall 2006 opera, The Marriage of Figaro and SOV 2007. Brad
is originally from Greensburg, PA where he still returns for the summers
as Artistic Director of Apple Hill Playhouse. During the summer of 2006,
he directed the musical Jekyll and Hyde and Tennessee Williams' Cat
On a Hot Tin Roof. Previously at Apple Hill, he helmed productions of
Evita, Dearly Departed, Fools, Picnic, Red Herring, and numerous children's
plays. Brad graduated with his MFA in Directing from Western Illinois
University in Macomb, IL. While there, Brad directed many productions,
including Waiting for Godot, Wit, and mainstage productions of Mame,
The Seagull and Stud Ducks and Horny Toads, an original comedy which
was a participating production at Region III's 2005 American College
Theatre Festival in Bloomington, IL. In the summer of 2005, Brad served
as Assistant Managing Director for Summer Music Theatre, WIUs professional
summer company. Before graduate school, Brad earned his BA in theatre
from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. His favorite acting
credits include Fred in A Christmas Carol, Roy Cohn in Angels in America,
Danforth in The Crucible, and Dr. Sloper in The Heiress.
