Anything Goes – Iowa State University Theatre Production

music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, from the book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse

Our hero, Billy Crocker must deliver information to his boss, who ‘s about to sail for Europe on the luxury liner S.S. America. Before the boat sails, Billy runs into old pal Reno Sweeny–an evangelist turned entertainer–and Hope, a young woman he’s loved, who’s sailing with her mother and, Billy’s sorry to see, with Sir Evelyn, her fiancé. He decides to stow away and make Hope his own, and soon gets an extra passport from Moonface Mullins, Public Enemy Number 13.
